2009 saw the largest collection of clans in one place ever. The Clan Gathering at Holyrood Park was attended by over 60,000 from around the world. 124 clans were represented and the parade up to the castle saw over 8,000 clansmen take part.

The setting was in the Royal Park beside Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh	Before the gathering kicked off the Clan Chiefs met the First Minister	The meeting was held opposite the palace in our Parliament building	x
The clan tent was all set up and made ready for the visitors	The public started arriving and the rain stayed away	Like an invasion of Tartan Hippies at a at a rock festival	They had a special offer on over-size bunnets but not many were sold
The Duke of Rothesay Prince Charles and other dignitaries at the opening	The massed pipe bands began to play and the games were under-way	The Atholl Highlanders, Europes only private army, gave us a show	The television were certainly interested in our Clan Chief
Really really interested	Even our First Minister Alex Salmon wanted a picture taken	And Prince Charles didnt want to be left out either
